3 GCSEs grade 9-3 (A*-D) or a related Level 1 Motor Vehicle qualification including, English and maths. Equivalence of these
qualifications will be considered. Mature applicants may be considered on relevant experience without having the required entry requirements. However, an interview will always be required. A satisfactory reference may also be requested for school leavers.
After completing the Motor Vehicle Mechanics Level 2 Diploma, students can pursue courses such as Level 3 Motor Vehicle. Career opportunities include roles as Motor Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Service Advisor, Diagnostic Technician, Automotive Engineer and Garage Manager.
The Motor Vehicle Mechanics Level 2 Diploma is assessed through a combination of practical assignments, written exams and online tests. Students will demonstrate their skills in real-world workshop settings by working on vehicles and completing tasks related to diagnosing, repairing and maintaining different vehicle systems. Written exams and online tests assess your understanding of technical knowledge, safety procedures and vehicle systems.
