Getting Ready for Your First Day at Croydon College

Starting college is an exciting new chapter, and it’s completely normal to feel a little nervous beforehand. Whether you already know someone joining or you’re starting fresh, you’ll quickly meet new people on your course who share your interests and goals.

Key Stages Before You Start

Advisory & Results Support
Once you receive your GCSE results, our team will be available to help you confirm your course choice or explore alternatives if your grades are different from expected.

Enrolment
After receiving your course offer, you’ll be invited to enrol. This is where you officially accept your place. You’ll receive an email with instructions—please make sure we have your correct contact details so nothing is missed.

Induction
During induction, you will:

Receive your timetable if you haven’t received it already
Learn how to access key systems such as Microsoft Teams and Moodle
Meet your tutor and new classmates
Apply for bursaries or support if needed

You’ll also be able to take part in welcome activities across the campus.

What to Bring on Your First Day

Your tutor will confirm anything specific you need for your course, but generally you should bring:

A notebook and stationery
Your student ID (if already issued)
A water bottle
Lunch or money for the refectory

Your First Day Experience

Your first day will usually include a campus tour, introductions to your course, and a chance to get familiar with our digital platforms. It’s the perfect time to ask questions, settle in, and get to know your new community.
