VRQ Certificate in Hairdressing L2
This course is designed to develop your practical skills across a broad range of women’s hairdressing services while building the professional and employability skills needed for a successful career in the hairdressing industry. As part of your studies, you will also be expected to take part in relevant work experience to gain valuable insight into the workplace and develop your industry knowledge.
You will cover a wide range of topics, including health and safety, client consultation, shampooing and conditioning hair and scalp, promoting products and services, cutting women’s hair, colouring and lightening techniques, perming and neutralising hair, and salon reception duties. Throughout the course, you will develop confidence in delivering professional salon services, communicating effectively with clients, and working to industry standards.
3 GCSEs grade 9-3 (A*-D) or a related Level 1 vocational qualification including, English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered. Mature applicants may be considered on relevant experience without having the required entry requirements. However, an interview and a maths and English assessment will always be required.
On completion of this course, you could progress onto Level 3 Hairdressing, an apprenticeship or enter employment as a junior stylist in a salon.
