VRQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy L2
This course is designed for individuals aspiring to work in the beauty industry, providing the essential knowledge and skills for facial skincare, eyelash and brow treatments, waxing, manicure and pedicure services, makeup application, client care and health and safety protocols.
3 GCSEs grade 9-3 (A*-D) or a related Level 1 vocational qualification including, English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered. Mature applicants may be considered on relevant experience without having the required entry requirements. However, an interview and a maths and English assessment will always be required.
You will develop practical, hands-on skills in a range of popular beauty treatments, including facial skincare, makeup application, and manicure and pedicure services, while gaining a thorough understanding of essential health and safety practices within the beauty industry.
Throughout the course, you will learn how to conduct professional client consultations, identify individual needs and preferences, recommend suitable treatments, and deliver services to a high professional standard. Strong emphasis is placed on customer care, communication, and building client confidence, helping you develop the skills required to provide an excellent customer experience and prepare for a successful career in the beauty sector.
On completion, you can progress onto Level 3 Beauty Therapy or Level 2 Hairdressing or enter employment with an apprenticeship. You can pursue roles such as beauty therapist, makeup artist, nail technician or skincare specialist in salons, spas and wellness centres.
The written assessments test your knowledge of theory, including topics like health and safety, client care and the science behind beauty treatments.You will demonstrate your skills in real-life scenarios, working with clients in a controlled environment to showcase your ability to perform various beauty treatments.
