Diploma in Adult Care L3
This qualification provides an ideal taster for learners who may be new to the sector or new to the world of work. It is accessible to learners of all ages who may want to understand more about working in health and social care. It aims to introduce some basic concepts of caring and preparation for employment in the sector. It aims to introduce knowledge around the following areas relating to working in adult social care.
4 GCSEs grade 9-4 (A*-C) or a related Level 2 vocational qualification (at merit or higher), including English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered.
Learners can progress onto qualifications for management or lead practitioner roles in adult care, or to specialist qualifications reflecting the context in which they work. Learners can progress into employment in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres or some clinical healthcare settings.
All units within this qualification are internally assessed and subject to external standards verification. Assessment methods include role plays, presentations, group discussions, and coursework assignments. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, meaning your success is determined by meeting all specified learning outcomes.
