C&G Diploma in Brickwork L2

GCSE grade 9-3 (A*-D) in English and maths and a Level 1 Brickwork qualification. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered. Evidence of a commitment to learn and the ability to study at this level shown at interview.

This comprehensive course perfectly balances essential construction theory with intensive practical training. In the classroom, you will master health and safety, hazard management, and the core principles of building construction. In the workshop, you will develop hands-on skills by interpreting working drawings, executing thin joint masonry, and constructing cavity walling, solid walling, and piers.To prepare you for a successful career, the programme connects you directly with the industry through employer links, employability events and expert discussions on apprenticeships and career progression. The course includes a mandatory 35-hour work experience placement.

Upon completing a Level 2 Brickwork program, students can pursue various career opportunities in the construction industry including junior bricklayer, masonry assistant, refurbishment worker or other construction assistant roles. For further study, students may progress to a Level 3 Brickwork qualification to deepen their skills and knowledge or pursue other construction-related qualifications such as site management or advanced carpentry. Apprenticeships, as well as NVQs in related fields, provide additional pathways for career advancement.

Assessment methods include classroom-based learning, where theoretical lessons are supervised by the teacher and practical training, which involves hands-on activities guided by qualified instructors. Continuous evaluation ensures that your' skills are developed properly, with assessments conducted under direct supervision throughout the program, including practical tasks and online exams.
