CERT INTRO CARE FOR CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE L2 (TQUK)

There are no specific entry requirements for this course; however, learners should have at least a Level 1 qualification in literacy or an equivalent credential.
Our Level 1 and 2 distance learning courses are available free of charge for those eligible for government funding, provided you meet the following criteria:
- Age Requirement: Must be 19 years or older.
- Ages 19-23: You must hold a full Level 2 qualification or higher, such as five GCSEs or O Levels at grades A-C (or 9-4), two or three AS Levels, one A Level, NVQ Level 2, First Certificate, or Principles of Learning Level 2.
- Ages 24 and Over: No qualifications are required.
- Enrolment Status: You must not be enrolled in any other distance learning course with us.
- Residency Requirement: You must have been living in the UK for the last three years.

This Course Includes the Following Units:
- Unit 1: Young Children’s Development

In this foundational unit, learners will explore the stages of development in young children from birth to three years. The unit emphasizes how positive environments can support the healthy development of young children, addressing factors such as emotional, social, and physical growth.

Unit 2: The Value of Play to Young Children

Learners will insights into the critical role of play in young children's development. This unit covers various play activities that are suitable for children from birth to five years, highlighting the ways in which play fosters learning, creativity, and social skills.
- Unit 3: Importance of Play for Early Learning

This unit delves deeper into the significance of creativity and imaginative play in child development. Learners will discover how to organize engaging cooking activities for children, understanding the crucial role creative activities play in enhancing overall learning and development. Additionally, unit highlights the importance of effective communication through talking and listening activities.

Unit 4: Safeguarding the Welfare of Children and Young People

In this essential unit, learners will cover the legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures that ensure the safeguarding of children and young people, including e-safety measures. Learners will also learn the appropriate actions to take when children are injured or ill, including emergency procedures, as well as how to respond to suspicions of abuse, harm, or bullying.

- Unit 5 Use Food and Nutrition Information to Plan a Healthy Diet

This unit focuses on the importance of making informed food and nutritional choices. Learners will understand how to interpret food labels and recognize what constitutes a nutritious, balanced diet for children, equipping them to promote healthy eating habits in their care settings.

This Level 2 qualification is ideal for anyone aspiring to work in childcare or enhance their existing knowledge and skills in child development, safeguarding, and nutrition.

Upon completion of this course, learners may have the opportunity to advance to higher-level distance learning courses in related fields. This progression allows individuals to deepen their knowledge and expertise, further enhancing their professional qualifications.

Throughout the course, learners will be assessed by answering a series of questions. These assessments will be submitted through the online learning platform, EQUAL, and evaluated by the tutor. Learners will receive feedback for each completed assessment, ensuring they can track their progress and improve their understanding.
