BTEC Diploma in IT L1
BTEC IT is known for its hands-on, practical approach to learning. You will be actively working with the technology you are studying. Since you will explore different aspects of IT, you can discover which specific area excites you the most. Whether it's programming, tech support, digital graphics or business technology, the course can lead you to areas you might not have considered before. IT is at the heart of almost every industry, from healthcare to entertainment to finance. The skills you learn in BTEC IT are immediately applicable to the real world. You will be able to see how technology is used to solve business problems, improve services and make people's lives easier.
GCSE grade 9-2 (A*-E) in English and maths.Equivalence of these qualifications will beconsidered. Evidence of a commitment to learn and the ability to study at this level shown at interview.
Engage in individual research and develop transferable skills to prepare for higher level studies. Gain practical experience through work related activities, collaborative projects, real life briefs and external trips and speakers. During this course you will explore developing websites, introduction to coding, online storyboarding, advert production and social media.
On completion, you can progress onto Level 2 IT or a related course. Alternatively you may wish to pursue an apprenticeship. You can pursue roles such as entry level IT Support, customer service roles in IT or Computer Technician.
