Student Profiles

Croydon School of Art was a good option for me as I live close to the college, however the main reason I chose to study here was because it really appealed to me. I wasn’t happy with the idea of staying on at sixth form, and I knew that I would enjoy college life and work better here. I think a large factor was the environment too as it was really welcoming. I’ve always been passionate about all areas of art, particularly fashion and how it is influenced by art. I wanted to improve my skills in textiles in general, including making clothes. After coming to the Open Event at the college, I learnt that previous students had always enjoyed the course and had really great results. I was also really impressed with the quality of the work they had produced. The part of the course that I have enjoyed the most is learning and improving my skills in a really great working environment with lecturers who have really helped me to achieve what I want. Not only am I doing well with work, but I’m also really happy with the friends who I have made here – we all share the same interests, even across the art school. Since I’ve really enjoyed this course so far, I’m thinking about staying and progressing to the university course so that I can get a degree.
