Come for interview
You will be invited to come into the College for an informal interview within five working days of submitting your application. This is an opportunity for you to find out more about the College and to discuss your interests and career plans, and to make sure you make the right decisions for your future. You may also be asked to complete numeracy and literacy assessments so we can help you select the right level course. For some subjects you may also be asked to do a skills test or an audition.
Conditional offer
If you are successful, we may offer you a place during the interview. This will often be conditional on the outcome of any exams you have to take. Some courses have additional entry requirements to GCSE results, such as practical assessment or a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check if you’ll be working with young children or vulnerable adults.
Welcome day
If you’ve been offered a place, you will be invited to attend a welcome day as a Croydon College student. This will give you a chance to get to know your tutors and classmates and experience college life for yourself.
Please note: A letter will be sent to you nearer the date to confirm the exact date and time of the Welcome Day for your course.
Late applications: If you apply after the end of June, limited interview dates will be available during the summer holiday.
Enrolment and grade-check day
If you are taking examinations, such as GCSEs in the summer, we will invite you to bring in your results in August to confirm your place on the course and complete your enrolment. Your grades may be better or worse than you had expected – whatever your results we will talk with you to make sure you are enrolled on the most appropriate course.
Please note: A letter will be sent to you nearer the date to confirm the exact date and time of your appointment.
Start date and induction
Induction Week takes place in September and is the start of your course. This is an opportunity to meet your tutors, familiarise yourself with the College, and get to know other students. You will be given details of your start date and induction times once you have completed your enrolment at the College.
