As one of the largest providers of Apprenticeships in South London, we are delighted that Croydon Council won two awards in the prestigious London Borough Apprenticeship Awards 2020 on Friday 11 September.

The council won Best Work with the Supply Chain and Local Businesses to Create New Apprenticeships for its 100 in 100 campaign – part of the council’s award-winning Choose Your Future Campaign.

Croydon College played a major part in the 100 Apprenticeships in 100 Days programme, offering over 50% of the Apprenticeships in the initiative, 62 in total.

Croydon Council worked with Croydon College to create new and exciting apprenticeships for residents of all ages and backgrounds over the course of 100 days. More than 120 new apprenticeship opportunities were created with more than 40 upskilling opportunities.

John McLean, Head of Apprenticeships said ‘We are proud to have supported Croydon Council in last year’s 100 in 100 campaign. Our links with local businesses, Croydon Council and partners helped to support a number of local residents to secure apprenticeships opportunities within the borough ranging from Construction and Professional through to Digital and IT. We continue to build on this legacy and work extensively within Croydon post Covid-19 to continue our support for business, residents and the economy in delivering apprenticeships.’
