Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is an Industry placement ?

A student will join your team for approximately 45 days, gaining valuable skills and confidence while contributing to your business. Placement schedules can be tailored to align with your specific requirements.

What support will I get from Croydon College?

We provide comprehensive support throughout the entire process, ensuring students are well-prepared to contribute effectively to your workforce. Additionally, we’ll assist in planning the timeline and objectives for the industry placement to meet your business needs.

What do I have to do for an industry placement ?

We will work with you to design a placement that benefits your business while equipping young people with the skills you value in an employee. To ensure a successful placement, you’ll need to provide a safe work environment, assign a line manager to guide the student, and evaluate their performance during the placement.

How do T Levels differ from apprenticeships or work experience ?

Apprenticeships offer hands-on training for young individuals eager to enter the workforce. Apprentices divide their time between 80% paid work and 20% classroom learning, gaining valuable skills while earning. T Levels, on the other hand, are designed for young people who wish to pursue further education while gaining practical work experience through a meaningful industry placement. T Level students also undergo employability training, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to meet workplace demands and expectations before starting their placement.
