Why did you apply to Croydon College?

I applied to Croydon College because of their fantastic reputation of equality & diversity, and outstanding support for every student.

What have been your highlights whilst studying here at Croydon College?

One highlight has to be the amazing experience I have gained. Teachers always put the needs of their students first, ensuring we are up-to-date with our work and encouraging us to always do our best.

Have you experienced any challenges?

Initially, time management was a real struggle for me. As a mother of 5, there are simply not enough hours in a day! However, I invested in a daily planner where I’d take note of assignment deadlines, exams and my children’s school activities. I get quite anxious when I have an assignment due so to help with that, I take the time to learn how to write effective notes, read textbooks and ask more questions in class.

Do you have any advice for future students?

When you are a College student, you gain a new sense of independence and it can be easy to take advantage of that. However, you should always attend class and keep up with the work load, otherwise you will scramble to make up for it later. Don’t be afraid to ask for help from your teachers, friends or family.

What are your future aspirations?

I would like to gain a range of new skills that can I apply to a variety of career pathways. I would definitely like to be part of managing a team, so that is an important skill I want to develop at Croydon College.
