In January our Skills Bootcamps were subject to an Ofsted Thematic Survey, which took a deep dive into courses.
Feedback was extremely positive with praise heaped on our work with local employers and our commitment to providing careers not courses. Our teaching staff also received high praised for their hard work and dedication in delivering the Skills Bootcamps.
Mike Davies, Skills Bootcamp delivery manager, said: “These bootcamps have been a fantastic opportunity for the college to have an impact on employment opportunities for residents of Croydon and further afield.
“The relationships we continue to develop with employers, especially in the construction sector, are proving great opportunities to feedback to teachers and learners about the needs and requirements to get into a career”.
The Skills Bootcamps team are now working with the rest of the college’s construction and engineering departments to arrange a massive jobs fair and careers advice day in April. Mike Davies added, “We see this event as an opportunity for current students and Croydon residents to find out about live job vacancies, possible career paths, and of course all the ways the college can help people attain the qualifications they need to follow those dreams. I’m really looking forward to welcoming all of our employers and people from across the borough to this event.”
We have run the Skills Bootcamps for just six months and they have already given people the chance to upskill and go further in their career. Find out more by following this link.
