Why did you apply to Croydon College?

The College is local to me so I visited on an Open Evening whilst I was searching for a College to continue my studies. During the Open Evening, I met all the wonderful teachers and I got a glimpse of the fantastic facilities. From then, I knew it was the perfect learning environment for me.

What have been your highlights whilst studying here at Croydon College?

My biggest highlight has to be having such amazing teachers and technicians within my department who have always helped with anything I needed. I have also been part of such amazing opportunities, including going away to Seville during November 2019 as part of the Erasmus programme to carry out 2 weeks international work experience which really helped my UCAS application stand out.

What is the Erasmus Programme?

The Erasmus Programme is a study programme whereby students work in Europe for work experience. In Seville, we worked with a designated employer who helped us develop our technical skills as well as customer service skills. It is such a great experience and would recommend it to anyone!

What is your dream career?

I would love to work in Hair and Makeup in the TV industry and the Level 3 Hairdressing course is the perfect place for me to kick-start that dream.

How has the College supported you?

Croydon College has supported me through so much. It’s a safe place where you can have your say and feel comfortable voicing your opinion. The Safeguarding team are amazing and are always around if you need advice. I absolutely adore everyone involved in Hair and Beauty at Croydon College.

Do you have any advice for future students?

Listen to your tutors, they are there for a reason. If you need help with anything, the College always offers a helping hand.

What’s next for you?

I have recently received a conditional offer from Solent University in Southampton where I’ll be studying Makeup and Hair Design (BA honours). Although I’m excited about continuing my journey at University, I’m sad to be leaving all the wonderful friends I’ve made here at Croydon College.
