Why did you choose to study at University Centre Croydon?

Once it was recommended by my neighbour who is currently studying Health and Social Care at University Centre Croydon, it was a no-brainer to apply, particularly because it’s local to where I live and I strongly believe in supporting my local borough.

What have been your highlights whilst studying here at UCC?

I thoroughly enjoy attending my lectures where I get to interact with my fellow classmates and my tutor. During each lecture, we take part in a ‘seminar activity’ where we get to put a practical spin on what we’ve learnt so far during the module which is perfect for me as I’m a visual learner.

Have you experienced any challenges since lockdown? How have you overcome these challenges?

Yes…I miss the interaction and motivation you get from the people around you. However, I’ve made a conscious decision to push myself and to always remember why I’m doing this degree.

How has UCC supported you during lockdown?

The continued access to the library facilities was awesome. I also kept in contact with my tutors via emails and phone calls, and with my fellow classmates though our group WhatsApp.

What are your future aspirations after you complete your course?

I would love to hold a top senior management position in a top corporation like the Home Office or HMRC. I would also like to become a role model for women of all ages and nationalities and motivate them to fulfil their full potential, no matter what their career.

Do you have any advice for future students?

We all have a purpose in life, and it is up to us to fulfil that purpose. To do so we must always remember that we are responsible for our own actions, what we want to achieve and where we want to be in our future.  Just remember, “Whatever our minds can conceive, if we believe we can achieve”.
