Croydon College is one of the largest and most successful providers of Further (college) and Higher (university) Education courses in the South East, judged Good at all levels in all areas by external inspections by Ofsted and the Quality Assurance Agency (for Higher Education).

Croydon College offers the largest selection of vocational courses in the Borough, with over 8,000 students choosing to study with us each year.

More than £60 million has been invested by Croydon College to ensure that the college provides top quality teaching spaces, social areas, library, industry-standard facilities, software and equipment.

Croydon College is the first Further Education College in the country to receive the top award, The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service – awarded for excellence in services to the community. Our students made a difference to the community by volunteering a staggering 23,500 hours last year and a total of 90,000 hours in the last four years.

Croydon College is committed to our community and ensuring that students are at the core of everything we do, so we were delighted to host the Careers and Enterprise Company Fund launch event on Monday 12th Nov.  As part of a national investment in Careers Education, a total of £4.2 million will be invested across the country in programmes available to schools and colleges in 25 areas of disadvantage and 12 careers hubs.

10 schools and colleges in Croydon have been selected to benefit from this fund, which will give them provision worth £5,000 each to invest in effective careers and enterprise programmes which they can choose from a range of selected providers.

The aim of the initiative is to ensure that young people get multiple opportunities to learn from employers through the course of their education.

Careers leaders from the schools/colleges benefiting from the fund met the programme providers at this event, coordinated by Georgina Angele of Careers and Enterprise Company, and Pru Rowntree, Coast to Capital LEP’s Enterprise Coordinator for Croydon.

Croydon College look forward to hosting similar events in the future.  Please do get in touch if you have an educational event you think we should know about.

We look forward to welcoming the Careers and Enterprise Fund back to the college in the near future.
