The Croydon College Group is proud to be sponsoring the Develop Croydon Conference on the 8 November. Brought to you by Develop Croydon, this annual event is an important date in local business calendar.
People are starting to come back into Croydon as life is slowly returning after the pandemic; the Conference will look to address the developments in the area now and moving forward. We will look at what the borough has to offer its residents and how it can support this new work-life balance.
The Croydon College Groups ethos is to raise aspirations and change people’s lives from within the local community. We continually work with employers to ensure students are gaining the right education for the workplace, which is why we are proud to be partnering with the Develop Croydon Conference.
Vice Principal, Fadia Clarke, will be appearing on the session panel for ‘Careers Not Courses’. We will be discussing the notion that education should be about what progression a student wants and not just about the career. We always want to ensure students have a pathway which leads them to employment – but not just any work, a career which they will enjoy for years to come.
The panel will look at the rise of Croydon’s knowledge economy and the positive impact on the borough. As educators, it is important to keep abreast of what industries need from students, so they are bringing relevant skills to the workforce. We are always adapting courses after discussions with employers, so students gain the relevant education to be beneficial to a company.
We are looking forward to being part of the Conference and discussing the future of the borough.
