Croydon College are once again celebrating the success of our students as current Level 3 Art and Design student, Eva Kerslake-Blue has received an unconditional offer from one of the leading arts universities in London, Goldsmiths.
Eva has consistgently wowed the Croydon College Creative Arts team with her detailed and colourful paintings around the theme of Identity. Inspired by surrealism and psychedelic artwork, Eva loves to design chaotic and detailed paintings and drawings.
These beautiful paintings are drawn straight from Eva’s imagination rather than using a reference image. Eva enjoys the freedom of working this way as her paintings may change and develop as she completes each one. This trust in her own process also allows for any mistakes to inform her artwork and become a part of the painting.
Eva has enjoyed her time in the Art and Design course under tutor Tony Croydon who is very proud of her work and accomplishments. Eva feels that creating art relaxes her and was able to use lockdown as a time to practise her painting and research more into ‘identity’ understanding what that means for her.
Eva’s tuor, Tony Croydon said, ‘Unsurprisingly her hard work and artistic commitment has been recognised by top arts university Goldsmiths who offered Eva an unconditional place on the Foundation course 2021.’
Head of Creative Arts at Croydon College added, ‘Croydon School of Art wishes Eva the absolute best on this journey. This is an amazing offer and stands testament to both Eva and Tony’s hard work. We know that she will use this as an opportunity to grow as a person and in her artistic career.’
You can see one of Eva’s paintings in the ‘Snap Shot’ Exhibition currently in the Parfitt Gallery at Croydon College.
