Croydon College’s Board of Governors is pleased to announce that Caireen Mitchell has been appointed as the next Principal & CEO. Caireen will take up her new role in April, replacing Frances Wadsworth, who announced her intention to retire last year.

Gordon Smith, Chair of Governors said, “The Board is delighted to have made such an exciting appointment. Caireen is currently Group Director of Planning and Performance at the Capital City Colleges Group, and pre-merger held the post of Director of Strategy and Performance at Westminster Kingsway College. We look forward to working with Caireen and building on the significant achievements made during the period in which Frances led the College.”

Caireen commented, “ I’m delighted to have been appointed. Croydon is a dynamic, fast evolving borough.  I’m looking forward to working with all of the College’s partners and stakeholders and ensuring that the College is a key part of that development in terms of the quality of teaching, learning and opportunities available to young people, adults and businesses.”

The Chair added, “The Board would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Frances on her appointment to the role of Deputy FE Commissioner, a role which she takes up post retirement from Croydon College. Frances has wide experience and knowledge of the FE sector and I am certain she will bring skills and insight to the role.
