Why did you apply to Croydon College?

I applied for the Level 2 Hairdressing course at Croydon College as I had heard so many great things from former students. I’ve always had an interest in hair and beauty and I wanted to try something new, so I knew Croydon College would be the right environment for me.

What are your future aspirations?

I am hoping to further my skills and knowledge in a salon after my course, perhaps as an apprentice so I can gain more experience. My end goal is to own my own salon, but I know a lot of hard work is needed in order to achieve that.

Do you have advice for future students?

Be ambitious and try to think ahead. I would advise future students to be prepared for their courses. Croydon College provides so many once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, so always make the most of them. I was lucky enough to travel abroad to gain valuable work experience all thanks to the Erasmus+ programme.

Have you experienced any challenges?

I have not had any particular challenges however, the lockdown due to COVID-19 has affected me a lot. But I have been able to practice on my daughters’ hair and receive online support from my tutor, Samantha Cromwell. The College has done amazingly well to set up the Online Learning environment so quickly, and it’s such a great platform.
