The Croydon College Group has issued its gender and equality pay gap reports.

The pay gaps have been calculated using the methodologies in the 2010 Equality Act Regulations 2017.

The pay gaps are the percentage gap in the average (mean) and middle values (median) of salaries of males and females and white, BAME and Not known categories based on standard hourly rates of pay.

Last year, the mean gender pay gap was 4.25% and median 5.34%. This year, the mean gender pay gap is 3.23%, but the median pay gap is 7.58%, likely reflecting the sector is female dominated, but highlights a concern that the males that are in the sector have a median higher pay. This is also reflected in the pay upper pay quartile.

Compared to the London average ethnicity pay gap of 23.8%, the College pay gap of 15.9% is lower than this benchmark, with the highest mean pay gap was amongst Black/African/Caribbean/Black British staff, where the mean pay gap was at 20%.
