Croydon College’s three vehicle maintenance courses aim to change perceptions in the motoring sector – with female course leaders teaching the next generation of experts in the industry.
Croydon College’s Level 1 Transport Maintenance and Level 2 and 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair courses
give those with a passion for cars an introduction into the industry, along with the practical experience and
technical knowledge needed to work in the automotive industry, with students learning how to carry out
maintenance and repairs on vehicles in the College’s fully-equipped workshops.
From September 2021, these courses will be delivered as a BTEC – a more technical and practical based qualification which will allow students to progress to university.
Nicola Tarry, Curriculum Manager, said: “These courses are a great opportunity to get into the industry and we would encourage anyone – especially women – to train and continue to change perceptions in what has traditionally been seen as a male-dominated profession.”
