The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) hosted their Centenary Dinner at the InterContinental Hotel in London on Wednesday 11 March 2020, to celebrate not only the IMI turning 100, but the contributions and successes of organisations and individuals in the motor vehicle industry.
The Motor Vehicle Department at Croydon College attended the event, alongside student Trevor Ridgewell who was nominated for the Full-time Student of the Year award, sponsored by MFG.
Trevor certainly deserved the nomination with health issues never stopping him from achieving his goals. After studying an IMI Level 1 course and moving on to Level 2, he successfully applied for an apprenticeship with Mercedes-Benz, competing against 2,000 other applicants for the position. He now uses his experiences to visit other students and inspire them to overcome any challenges they may have and achieve their goals.
Although he did not win the award, Trevor received plenty of praise for all his hard work and Croydon College was highly recommended by many individuals in the industry. We are all so proud of Trevor and his achievements throughout his career journey.
