Following the news last year that Croydon College Group had achieved a good overall grading from Ofsted, the college, which was formed from a merger between Croydon College and Coulsdon Sixth Form College, has launched its new five-year strategic plan “Creating Careers”.
‘Creating Careers’ sets out Croydon College’s ambition to equip its students with the knowledge, skills, and capabilities to develop their future careers and meet the skills needs of the residents, employers, and stakeholders in Croydon and its surrounding boroughs.
The plan is centred around five strategic priorities; Exceptional Outcomes, Skills for Successful Careers, Great Place to Work, Making a Difference and Foundations. Specific actions underpin these priorities, which aim to transform lives and support the local economy . Students, staff and governors were all involved in developing the plan and in setting the college’s vision, purpose, mission and values.
Caireen Mitchell, Principal & CEO of Croydon College said:
“We have launched our new strategic plan to focus on creating careers for our students in the communities where they live. We want to ensure they have the skills they need to be able to access good careers in the future and to work with local employers to strengthen our network and give the best possible opportunities to our students.
“We know the local area has some challenges, but we want to position ourselves as an anchor institution in Croydon We want to do more to give back to our community and be part of the solutions to the difficulties that our students and communities face. This plan gives us a clear vision to continue to improve and ensure exceptional outcomes for our students.”
Ian Valvona, Chair of the Governing Body of Croydon College said:
“Everyone at Croydon College is passionate about changing lives for the better. Our new strategic plan shows how and why we plan to do that over the next five years, and we are excited to share it with Croydon and more widely this year.”
