Our Croydon College Culinary Skills students, ranging from Level 1 to Level 2, attended the Hotel Restaurant and Catering (HRC) event at ExCel London on Wednesday 4 March.
HRC is the UK’s largest and most prestigious event for the hospitality and foodservice industry and is split into four shows: The Foodservice Show, The Professional Kitchen Show, Interiors and Tabletop Show and Hospitality Tech Show. Learn more about HRC here.
Students sampled food of all descriptions, from new brands of tea & juices to truffle flavoured items. They even got the chance to try out the latest technology in the catering industry alongside celebrity chef, Tom Kerridge.
Level 2 Culinary Skills student Dexter Davis said, ‘I learnt so much from this event. There were so many people I could speak to who offered expert advice, and meeting Tom Kerridge was amazing. I never realised how many job roles and courses there are in the industry- there are roles that I wasn’t even aware of! I enjoyed every part of the day and would definitely recommend it.’
