International

Welcome

Moving overseas to pursue your career ambitions is one of the most important decisions of your life.

Only you can decide whether Croydon College, or Croydon University Centre, is the right place for you. To do that, you need to know what type of place Croydon College is, our values and, most importantly, how we can help you on to your chosen career path.

Croydon College is one of the largest providers of education in the South East of England and offers a wide range of courses including vocational programmes and undergraduate courses. Croydon University Centre delivers the College’s higher education courses in partnership with University of Roehampton.

We welcome students of all nationalities who have either settled in the UK or travelled to London specifically to study with us. You will learn alongside students from all over the world, and your time with us will be greatly enriched by this diversity.

Unlike at many universities, at Croydon University Centre you will be taught in small groups rather than impersonal lecture theatres alongside hundreds of other students. You will find that your tutors will know you personally, and they will ensure that your learning is tailored to suit your needs and ambitions.

The combination of high-quality, innovative courses and excellent staff-to-student ratios makes Croydon University Centre an outstanding choice for university education.

While your studies will be at Croydon University Centre, with all the advantages of individual attention and personalised learning, in most cases your degree will be awarded by the University of Roehampton, ranked in the top 10 Universities in London.

When you’ve finished your studies for the day, you’ll find that Croydon is also a great place to live. Our town-centre location is easy to reach and we’re at the heart of a thriving multi-cultural community with strong African, Caribbean and Asian influences and links to many other ethnic communities.

There are plenty of cultural opportunities, and the town’s nightlife buzzes with cinemas, theatres, bars and restaurants. You can also head into central London in just 15 minutes via fast, direct transport links.

If you’re still undecided, we are committed to providing free, impartial advice and guidance on the courses available to you as well as immigration advice, specific to your individual circumstances.

We hope that this personal attention will help you to make an informed decision. If you decide to join us here and – we hope you do! – we’ll help you through the application process and do everything we can to ease your transition into life in the UK.

We are confident that studying at Croydon College will be a richly positive and enjoyable learning experience that will set you on the path to achieving your academic and professional ambitions.

How to apply

Applying to study overseas can seem like a complex procedure, but we’re here to make the process as straightforward as possible. Below, we take you through it step by step.

Step 1

You can apply for our courses at any time. The easiest way to apply is to download and complete our International Student Application Form . Then email it back to us at international@croydon.ac.ukalong with:

  • A copy of your current passport / all visas and travel documents.
  • Copies of international and UK qualifications, and English Language proficiency certificate (if required).
  • Copies of previous CAS’s assigned and used as part of the Tier 4 application(if applicable).
  • A reference from your current school/college/university/employer.
  • IELTS test report form (if required).
  • Completed Initial Tier 4 Questionnaire (only for Non-EU/EEA national students).

Alternatively, if you are applying for a Foundation Degree, BA (Hons) Degree or LLB Degree you can apply via UCAS. However, you will still need to provide our International Office with the following:

  • A copy of your passport and any current visa.
  • Copies of international and UK qualifications, and English Language proficiency certificate (if required).
  • Copies of previous CAS’s assigned and used as part of the Tier 4 application (if applicable).
  • A reference from your current school/college/university/employer.
  • IELTS Test Report Form (if required).
  • Completed Initial Tier 4 Questionnaire.

Step 2

Once we have received everything relevant from the list above, you will be sent an interview date. All Tier 4 students are required to attend an academic interview either in person or via Skype. If you are applying for a creative arts course, you will also need to supply scanned copies of your artwork / sketchbook / portfolio – or if you are attending an interview, you need to bring your sketchbook and / or portfolio.

If you meet all of our entry requirements, you will be sent an offer letter. In order to accept the offer you will need to provide the following:

  • 50% deposit.
  • Signed acceptance of offer.
  • Financial documents providing evidence of the UKVI required maintenance funds and tuition fees.
  • UKVI approved TB Health Screening Certificate (if we request this).

Step 3

Once we are in receipt of all of the above, and no more than three months before the start of the course, we will be able to assign your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies). You will need to make your Tier 4 application to the UKVI within five days of receipt of the CAS.

Step 4

Please inform our International Office as soon as your visa is issued so that we can send you an enrolment letter. If you are currently overseas, before travelling you will need to inform the International Office of your arrival date and time.

You will also need to arrange local accommodation before your arrival in the UK. If you need a taxi transfer from the airport, this can be arranged at an additional cost.
