Martin Boakye

I’ve always been interested in computers and exploring how things work. I enjoy taking things apart, figuring out how they function, and then putting them together in new ways. IT allows me to do all of that, and it’s something I’ve been passionate about since I was young.

What made you choose this course?
I’ve always been interested in computers and exploring how things work. I enjoy taking things apart, figuring out how they function, and then putting them together in new ways. IT allows me to do all of that, and it’s something I’ve been passionate about since I was young.

Why did you decide to study at Croydon College?
I chose Croydon College because of the excellent IT courses and its convenient location near my mum’s house. Studying here also lets me help my little brothers after college, which is really important to me.

What do you enjoy most about your course?
I enjoy talking with my teachers, not just about lessons but also about IT in general. For example, discussing projects like video management or automation gives me insight into different areas of the field. It’s inspiring to see that after this course, I can expand into multiple IT areas and continue exploring and building skills.

How are you finding the teaching/support?
The teaching is excellent, and I get the support I need. Being dyslexic, I sometimes require extra time and help, and my teachers have been flexible, allowing me to use computers and resources even before official paperwork was processed. That kind of support helps me perform at my best.

Are there any specific goals or career plans you have after completing this course?
After finishing this course, I hope to earn a scholarship and aim for distinctions this year. My goal is to continue into college, focusing on either development or cybersecurity, and build a strong career in IT.

Would you recommend Croydon College to a future student? If so, why?
Absolutely. Croydon College has a vibrant, welcoming community where you feel at home. Many people who come here, even from other colleges, immediately feel comfortable and supported. The friendly environment and inclusive atmosphere make it a great place to learn and grow.
