Croydon College’s Apprenticeship Showcase, held on 7 February, welcomed students and members of the general public to explore the wide range of apprenticeships on offer. From school leavers to adults looking to upskill or re-train, the wide range of professional and higher level apprenticeships (equivalent to a degree) offers something for everyone. Apprenticeship pathways range from accountancy to analysis, carpentry to civil engineering, hospital to human resources and much more.

During the event, guests had the opportunity to meet with a number of prospective employers to learn about their apprenticeship programmes and get answers to any questions.

Axis Europe, offered advice and answered questions about apprenticeships in a wide range of trades including carpentry, electrics, plumbing and gas Axis also attended and offered advice in their programmes, which include Plumbing, Electrics and Administration.

Croydon College’s apprenticeship team was on hand to explain the benefits of an apprenticeship and discuss how the college modules are delivered in partnership with employers. As a training development programme tied to a job role, apprentices work as contracted employees alongside experienced staff and gain nationally recognised qualifications through on-the-job training, all whilst earning a wage and avoiding student loans.

The event was successful, with many in attendance and very positive feedback received. Happy National Apprenticeship Week.
