Calling all Croydon Businesses
We need you to kickstart the careers of Croydon’s young people by creating job placements for them!
Croydon College has been approved as a Kickstart Gateway for employers and businesses looking to harness the government employment scheme and enhance their workforce whilst giving young people the start they need to launch their career.
As a Gateway organisation we are fully equipped to work hand-in-hand with you to ensure you successfully navigate the process, hire the right young people and receive the funding from the government to create a 6-month job placement for them and truly kickstarting their career.
What is Kickstart?
The scheme has been created by the Government in the light of the economic crisis due to the impact COVID-19. It provides a fully-funded opportunity for young people to get experience of working in their chosen sector and employers are able to grow their employee base through the scheme by creating new 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.
The job placements should support the participants to develop the skills and experience they need to find work after completing the Kickstart scheme, which supports and financially funds you to make job placements available.
What is a ‘Kickstart Gateway’
Croydon College is a Kickstart Gateway and has already been approved to act as your representative and support your application to access the funding and recruit new employees on your behalf. Click here to download our Kickstart for Employers leaflet.
How does it work?
At Croydon College we will work with you to ensure that the right young people receive placements which will not only enhance their career, but will add value to your business too.
As Croydon’s leading training provider and the largest provider of Apprenticeships in the South East, we have many years of experience working with young people and employers through work placements and apprenticeships and can provide all required employability recruitment, training and support, delivered flexibly to meet employer’s needs.
The scheme will enable you to access large pools of young people who are ready for a new opportunity to enter the workforce and their journey back into employment and training.
Our experienced team will give support to both you and your Kickstart employee throughout the 6-month programme and beyond to enable them to progress to employment, apprenticeships or further education as appropriate.
What does it cost?
