Vacancy Full Description:

Kiba Kitchens is looking for an enthusiastic, willing to learn apprentice. The successful candidate will be trained to become competent in all aspects of kitchen and bathroom design and installation:

 

•             Pipe Laying

•             Tiling & Brick Laying

•             Carpentry

•             Electrical Installation

•             Decoration

 

As an apprentice you will provide first and immediate response to fault finding, whilst maximising quality and ensuring cost effectiveness. You will also ensure prevention of major damage that could result in extensive costs and minimise reactive intervention.

As part of the apprenticeship you will receive training from JAG Training Limited to complete the Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship Standard.

 

The qualification will include: –

•             Basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, tiling and decorating

•             Refurbishment or deep clean of equipment and surfaces

•             The importance of customer service

•             Record and report information accurately either internally or externally

 

You will have on the job training within Kiba Kitchens and have an assigned Assessor from JAG Training who will provide you with additional training sessions and assessments to gain the apprenticeship award.

 

This apprenticeship award is assessed at the end point and is broken down into apprentice showcase, professional discussion and observation

 

You will have an e-portfolio to work through and gather evidence during your role as a General Builder with the employer.

You will also be required to pass:-

•             Functional Skills Maths Level 1/2

•             Functional Skills Maths Level 1/2

 

A clean UK driving license and a car is a great advantage and some building experience and usage of building related tool usage will be an advantage but not essential.

Please note that this is an apprenticeship in the first instance so starts on minimum wage plus weekly bonus.

For future prospects it is intended that the apprentice can run a small building site, manage other workers and complete general building to a Builders Control standard

Skills Required:

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Requirements:

•             A confident individual with a passion for mechanical engineering

•             Would be required to attend college to complete NVQ 2 diploma in heating and ventilation industrial and commercial installation course.

•             Excellent understanding quality

•             Demonstrates problem-solving skills and attitude to learn

•             full UK driving licence not essential but preferred

•             Self-motivated with a flexible approach to work, location and hours.

This qualification is made up of:

• Functional Skills in English at Level 2

• Functional Skills in Mathematics at Level 2

• Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)

• Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)

 

Other Information:

This is a Mobile role and you will be expected to use your own initiative to arrive at a variety of locations across South London for work on time.
