Job Title: Administrator Apprentice

Apprenticeship Standard: Business Administrator Level 3

Location: Croydon CR7 7HQ 

 

Vacancy Short Description:

To ensure that patients are received courteously and are dealt with promptly either face to face or telephone, act as liaison between patients and clinical staff in the practice, accurate and effective message taking, promote the practice in a positive way.

Main Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Answer telephone dealing with or redirecting enquiries as appropriate
  • Handle general enquiries, referring where necessary
  • Make new and follow up appointments
  • Accept and record messages for doctors and nurses
  • Daily-Scan medical records and correspondence using Docman
  • Read-Coding of clinical correspondence into medical records
  • Make appointments for hospital transport when appropriate
  • Work as part of a reception team
  • Daily-Collection of prescriptions from post, over counter and from pharmacies.
  • Filing
  • Register new patients – if required
  • Printing off medical records enabling them to be transferred to new GP practice. – if required
  • Supporting GP’s and Management with ad-hoc tasks
  • Processing information request i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
