4 GCSEs grade 9-4 (A*-C) or a related Level 2 vocational qualification (at merit or higher), including English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered. Plus, an art portfolio containing recent creative work you
have done.
The Photography & Film Level 3 course covers a variety of exciting units that provide a comprehensive foundation in both photography and film production. Students will explore topics like Camera Techniques, Lighting and Composition, Digital Editing, Film Production and Post-Production using industry-standard software like Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro. Hands-on projects include shooting in different genres, creating short films and building a professional portfolio.This course prepares students for a range of careers in the fast-evolving world of visual media.
After completing the Photography & Film – Level 3 UAL course, students have several exciting higher education options to further their studies and specialize in areas of visual media.Some of the key courses they can pursue include BA (Hons) Photography, BA (Hons) Film Production, BA (Hons) Media Studies and BA (Hons) Animation and Visual Effects.Some potential career paths include Photographer, Social Media Manager, Event Videographer and Video Editor
Assessment is through four modules, Skills Development, A Creative project in the first-year diploma. For the extended diploma there is further two modules that focus on a progression brief and Industry creative brief as a final project. These are supported through lectures, practical assignments, group discussions, essays and regular educational visits to galleries and museums. You will take part in regular discussions about progress with your tutor.
