Mode of study:
This course is made up of 2 nationally recognised BTEC qualifications, Awards in Business and Information Technology and also helps students to prepare for work through a unit in recruitment and selection and external work experience.
This course allows you to study the world of business, giving you the opportunity to develop knowledge and technical skills in a practical learning environment. You will examine the roles and responsibilities of setting up a new business and its financial management. You will also develop key skills, such as analysis and review of key financial statements.
The course will also give learners the opportunity to gain a broad understanding and knowledge of the Information Technology sector exploring the fundamentals of technology and gaining the practical skills, knowledge and understanding to design, make and review information technology systems.

Career Opportunities & Further Study
Student can go onto an apprenticeship, or set up their own business.
Assessments are primarily portfolio based along with a couple of externally assessed modules.
A related Level 1 vocational qualification; and
A GCSE at grade 3/D (or equivalent) in English; or
English and Mathematics assessed at Entry 3 or above by College assessment.
