This course gives learners the opportunity to gain broad knowledge and understanding of, and develop skills in, the Performing Arts sector. Developing learners’ knowledge and understanding of the Performing Arts sector as part of their career progression and development plans.

The course offers a balance of practical skill development and knowledge requirements, some of which can be theoretical in nature.

Career Opportunities & Further Study
On completion you will be able to progress to Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts.
Assessment of the internal and external units for this course is designed to fit the purpose and objective of the course– giving learners the opportunity to demonstrate skills developed in applied scenarios. All units are graded to encourage skills development and performance. Units are assessed using a grading scale of Distinction, Merit, Pass and Unclassified. Grading has been introduced at this level as a result of feedback from users and practitioners of the qualification.
Relevant Level 2 qualification or four GCSE at Grade 4-9, one of which should be English or Maths.
Entry requirements you will need 1 audition piece in a chosen genre such as monologue speech, song performance or spoken word. If singing, you will need to bring the backing tracks in for your audition or have YouTube links for the instrumental version of the song. You may also audition your own writing or compositions where possible. You will need to discuss how you have prepared your piece for performance or what you think is important about performing your piece.
