The course is designed to give learners a technical understanding of fashion design and production. Learners gain knowledge and skills in design, pattern cutting, manufacturing methods and promotion to produce fashion projects.

Assessment

Assessment of the internal and external units for this course is designed to fit the purpose and objective of the course– giving learners the opportunity to demonstrate skills developed in applied scenarios. All units are graded to encourage skills development and performance. Units are assessed using a grading scale of Distinction, Merit, Pass and Unclassified. Grading has been introduced at this level as a result of feedback from users and practitioners of the qualification.

Entry Requirements

Relevant Level 2 qualification or four GCSE at Grade 4-9, one of which should be English or Maths.

You will need a portfolio of work, containing recent examples of artwork, sketchbooks, photography work or creative work you have done. This could be both course work and work you have created in your own time.
