Are you interested in pursuing a career in business? This flexible Level 4 course is ideal for students who wish to advance their business knowledge. The programme aims to give you an in-depth understanding, skills and knowledge of the business sector and its environment. This course will be delivered through an optimised blended learning approach. You will learn and complete modules through a combination of online and on campus methods, it gives you more flexibility to study while you work. Giving you the ideal balance of in-person and online support to fit in with busy lifestyles.
Graduates will be able to communicate accurately and appropriately and will have the qualities needed for employment that requires some degree of personal responsibility. Additionally, you will have developed a range of transferable skills to ensure effective team working, independent initiatives, organisational competence and problem-solving strategies. Students will learn to be adaptable and flexible in their approach to business, show resilience under pressure, and meet challenging targets within a given resource. Thus, preparing you for a career in the business sector.
This course aims to develop a broad knowledge and awareness of key aspects of the business sector through six core units, including
- Business and the Business Environment
- Marketing Essentials
- Human Resource Management
- Management and Operations
- Management Accounting
- Managing a Successful Business Project.
Additionally, students are required to complete a further optional module which may include Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management or Financial Accounting (tbc).
Career Opportunities & Further Study
The Level 4 HNC in Business will prepare you for the business environment and, should you wish to continue your studies, for subject specialisation at Level 5 and beyond. You will gain 120 Level 4 credits which can be used to gain entry into a subject relevant Level 5 programme.
Students will be assessed using a wide range of assessment methods including coursework, assignments, presentations, and project work.
Must have a Level 3 qualification, for example, BTEC L3 Extended Diploma, Access to HE, A Level or equivalent, in a relevant subject.
Additionally, students must evidence:
- Level 2 English/Literacy or above
- Level 2 Mathematic/Numeracy or above
International applicants must satisfy the minimum English requirements as published on the College website and updated periodically (currently IELTS 6.0 or equivalent with minimum 5.5 in each of the four components).
Mature students who do not meet the entry criteria are encouraged to apply and will be considered on the basis of relevant work experience, passing the course entrance assessment (if deemed necessary by the course tutor) and successful interview.
