Course Overview
This course allows learners to specialise in Games and Animation giving the learner the opportunity to develop transferable skills related to study and vocational application that provide a platform for success both within Art and Design and elsewhere.

Career Opportunities & Further Study
On completion you will be able to progress to Level 3 Diploma in Games Design or Level 3 Diploma in Animation and Visual Effects.
Assessment
Assessment of the internal and external units for this course is designed to fit the purpose and objective of the course– giving learners the opportunity to demonstrate skills developed in applied scenarios. All units are graded to encourage skills development and performance. Units are assessed using a grading scale of Distinction, Merit, Pass and Unclassified. Grading has been introduced at this level as a result of feedback from users and practitioners of the qualification.
Entry Requirements
Three GCSEs at grades 3/D as a minimum OR a related Level 1 vocational qualification;
AND;
Including a GCSE at grade 3/D (or equivalent) as a minimum in English OR English and Mathematics assessed at Entry 3 or above by College assessment.
Mature applicants may be considered on relevant experience without having the required entry requirements. However, an interview will always be required.
A satisfactory reference may also be requested.
