Course Overview

An exciting full-time course for those who are new to the UK, just starting to learn English and find out about life and work here. The course includes lessons in English, Maths, Computing and work skills. The course also includes lessons about life and culture in the UK.

In addition to fun classes, the course includes plenty of opportunities to visit interesting places, do voluntary work, contribute to your communities and attend useful employability and cultural events at the College.

The course is taught over 3 days per week, by a small team of English and Maths teachers. You are assigned a personal course tutor who meets with you regularly and makes sure make sure you are prepared for assessments and the next steps in your learning.

After this course you can progress onto our ESOL: Work Ready Course at Entry 2.

Assessment

The employability parts of your course are assessed using practical tasks and activities which you do in class and collect as a portfolio. Functional skills and ESOL are assessed using practical exams which you take when your teacher feels you are ready.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements.  We test your abilities before you start and place you on the course that best fits the skills you already have.

You must show at interview that you are committed to full time studies and keen to develop all of your work skills, not just your English.
