Course Overview
This course is for you if you would like to improve your English.
We offer exciting classes in lots of different subjects to help you at different levels from very little English (Pre-Entry) to Entry 3 by experienced teachers.
You will improve your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills which will help you progress towards learning skills needed in your chosen career. You will also improve skills which will help you in the world of work including maths, ICT, learning how to have good relationships, and finding solutions to problems.
You will have a personal tutor who will help you be successful and make sure you are prepared for your next steps in learning.
You will have the opportunity to attend different events at the college to support your progression, meet new friends and get support you need to be successful.
Course Highlights
You will learn with people from all over the world and be able to take part in different projects such as:
- Mentoring – you can meet learners from other parts of the college who will support you
- Volunteering – you can help people in the community
- Workshops – you can learn about other cultures, where to get help with asylum, financial, or health issues, help with your English, music, relationships, and meeting other learners from around the college
- Sport – football, Zumba, or gym sessions
- Trips – including museums
Career Opportunities & Further Study
You can progress from one level of this English for Progression course to the next. After Entry Level 2 you are ready to progress into employment or on to a vocational pathway to develop further your skills.
Assessment
The employability parts of this course are assessed in activities which you do in class.
English, maths and ICT are assessed by exams.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. We test your abilities before you start and place you on the course that best fits the skills you already have.
You must show at interview that you are committed to full time studies and keen to develop all of your work skills, not just your English.
