Engineering – Level 2 Certificate- September Start
Our Engineering Level 2 course builds on the foundations from Level 1, offering more in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in key areas like mechanical systems, electrical engineering, and advanced CAD design.With practical projects, expert-led lessons, and real-world applications, this course will equip you with the skills needed to tackle more complex challenges and open doors to higher-level engineering careers.
3 GCSEs grade 9-3 (A*-D) or a related Level 1 vocational qualification including, English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered. Mature applicants may be considered on relevant experience without having the required entry requirements. However, a maths and English assessment may be required.
The Engineering Level 2 course covers a wide range of advanced units designed to build on your foundational knowledge. Key topics include Mechanical Principles, Electrical and Electronic Systems, Advanced CAD Design, Engineering Materials and Maintenance of Mechanical Systems.You’ll also dive into Problem-Solving and Project Planning, allowing you to apply theory to real-world scenarios. Our cutting-edge facilities feature specialized workshops for mechanical and electrical engineering, fully equipped computer labs for advanced CAD work and modern testing equipment to develop your practical skills.
On completetion of this course you can progress onto engineering Level 3 and further studies in engineering, ultimately leading to roles like Design Engineer, Electrical Technician or Project Manager in the engineering sector. Alternatively, you may wish to explore an apprenticeship.This course opens up a wide range of exciting career opportunities including roles such as a Junior Engineer, CAD Technician or Workshop Assistant.
You will be assessed over nine units, each with four written assignments. There will also be an additional three or four exams.
