Course Overview

This qualification will introduce students to the major approaches to counselling and their philosophical and practical assumptions about the nature of humankind.

Students will increase their understanding of the counselling process and the skills involved. They will learn how to establish and sustain the boundaries of the help role.

Students will develop sensitivity and awareness about the process of change and growth as well as developing their reflection skills to facilitate the helping interaction.

Students will study OCN London Award in Progression units:

  1. Stress and Stress Management Techniques
  2. Human Behaviour in Relationships
  3. Understanding Mediation

Your assignment work will be assessed by your tutor. Some assessment is based on how you as a learner are able to work independently and within a group setting.

English Level 1 and Maths E3 you are expected to attend all classes and arrive on time = 100%.
