Course Overview

This qualification is designed to stimulate interest and encourage the learners’ understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to care for young children.

Learners will look at a range of units to include both personal development and the development and growth of babies and young children.

They will also explore:

  • The value of a healthy lifestyle and diet
  • Communication and learning
  • Aspects of play
  • The importance of building children’s confidence
  • Human lifespan from birth to the elderly

Although this qualification does not qualify learners to work with children it does support them in preparing for the ‘next steps’ either in training or moving towards the world of work.

Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities.

Course Highlights
