An Infrastructure Technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their own jobs, by using tools to problem solve and trouble shoot non routine problems. The Infrastructure Technician sets people up on systems and provides support when they need it, rectifying issues to maintain the organisations productivity.
Students will learn how to set people up on Information Technology (IT) systems, provide support and solve problems to help organisations run smoothly.
Job roles could include: Help Desk Technician, First or Second Line Support, IT Infrastructure Technician or Network Support.
The delivery of this course includes one day per week at Croydon College.

- Health and Safety
Career Opportunities & Further Study
Students can progress into full time work and or the Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship.
Assessment is through on and off the job training in
- Apprenticeship Standard
- Knowledge modules/vendor qualifications
- Maths and English
Learners will be assessed through various forms plus
- Structured interviews
- A portfolio
- Employer reference
5 GCSEs, (especially English, Mathematics and a Science or Technology subject); a relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship; other relevant qualifications and experience; or an aptitude test with a focus on IT skills.
