Course Overview

This is a level 3 course for individuals who would like to work in the adult social care sector, it is a practical, work-related course. You will learn by completing projects and coursework based on realistic workplace situations, activities, and demands. As well as learning about employment in the care sector, you will develop the knowledge and skills needed for starting a valuable career in this area. You will need to develop good study skills including the ability to research independently and meet deadlines. You will be required to source a variety of work placements, and there are two exams in each year.

This qualification is aimed at learners interested in, or new to, working in adult social care in England.

Employment in the health sector, including care homes and day centres working with a variety of people with care and support needs.

Upon completion of the course, you can progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

Assessment

All units within these qualifications are internally assessed. The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.

  • Group discussions
  • Course work

Entry Requirements

  • An interest in Health and Social Care and a clean DBS check
  • A positive reference including a high level of attendance and punctuality
  • You will need to source a work placement for 60hrs
